Cléa Aumont

Bonjour! Im Cléa and I'm based in Montréal. I have always had an interest in visual storytelling. This has been through art, photography, and cartography, but professionally through data visualization by giving a meaning to numbers.

Currently, I work at Plotly where I manage our Professional Services team. I evaluate and scope data-driven web applications that use our open source Dash Framework backed by Plotly visualizations. Before managing the team, I was a member of it; some projects highlights include building an image segmentation tool of high res images for LBL to help scientists analyze and annotate images output from ALS beamlines. I've also added features to Plotly's open-source dash-cytoscape library to support the work of engineers.

Previously, I've worked for the federal government as a python programmer on the Sarracenia Data Pump project, a pub/sub management toolkit for moving meteorological data in real time.

I've also worked for the research lab at Montreal Behavioural Medicine Center, where I was tasked to to develop python-based tools to analyse and visualize survey data relating to ethnicity. A paper on this research presented at a conference is on the projects page.

I have a joint Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Computer science from Concordia University. Outside of work, I enjoy photography, cartograpy, and information design. You can find some of my geospatial work on my Instagram.

You can find me on LinkedIn or Github.
